Chicken with Red Wine Sauce

Similiar to the tri tip with red wine sauce dinner...

I added some extra items to the pan sauce this time:
garlic
green onion
carrots (boiled in water/rosemary prior)
fresh rosemary from our rosemary Christmas tree

Current Readings

Besides drooling over Ad Hoc at Home, I am currently reading The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry: Love, Laughter, and Tears in Paris at the World's Most Famous Cooking School. I have no desires to attend the Le Cordon Bleu cooking school, altho I do happen to work across the street one of their branches. I'll stick to cookbooks and online videos to learn how to make dinner meals :)

Thomas Keller's Brownies

We were having a potluck at work (before Christmas). I found Thomas Keller's recipe for his brownies online. There are quite a few recipes of his online. I did buy his buy, Ad Hoc at Home

The recipe can be found via google or just go here.

Here's a slice. I didn't have any leftovers from the potluck, I guess everyone liked it :)

Tri Tip with Red Wine Sauce

I tried to follow the recipe from the Rouxbe Cooking School. Here's the recipe.

The tri trip cooking nicely, look at the sucs!

Steaks resting, I did add an aluminum foil tent over them:

Start of the sauce. Butter, shallots and sucs!

After adding the red wine. I didn't cook it hot enough and didn't get the syrupy texture, part of learning the hard way:

The end result cut up:

As you can see, the sauce is a little watery, but still very flavorful:

My first attempt to cook steaks on the new pan. My first attempt making red wine sauce. All in all, came out tasty! I bought a Mauviel M'Cook 5 Ply Stainless Steel Frying Pan from Amazon.
